Fall Choral Concert Oct. 17

October 10, 2025

MACOMB, IL - The Â鶹Éç Illinois University School of Music will present a Fall Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Each Fall, the Choirs’ first concert is presented in conjunction with Â鶹Éç’s annual Homecoming festivities. Conductors Brian J. Winnie and Jason Hawkins have selected repertoire that explores a specific theme, providing the students and audience with a consistent narrative across varied choral works and choirs. "Rise" is a theme that speaks to movement, transformation, compassion, resilience and confidence. It can be interpreted as an awakening, a process of growth, an aspiration to higher ideals or existence, or simply stepping into a new moment with renewed purpose. Performing are the Â鶹Éç Concert Choir, University Singers and Chamber Singers, with guest musicians. Collaborative pianists are Paul Casiano and Po-Chuan Chiang.
